Daryl Sabara opens up about his sobriety.
The 30-year-old Spy Kids actor appeared on his wife Meghan Trainor‘s podcast Workin’ On It where he talked about how to quit drinking and smoking weed.
“One piece of advice my therapist gave me that was so helpful was [that] she just said ‘If you want to be on your A-game, maybe consider total sobriety'” Daryl began.
“I was like, what the hell!” Of course I want to be on my A-game,” Daryl revoked. “That really sparked something in me where I said, ‘OK, you know what? Even though weed isn’t exactly bad for me, I don’t have to constantly test it waiting for it to go bad or get in the wrong spot. So let’s try this thing full of sobriety.’
Daryl he also talked about how his journey to sobriety made it easier for him to go to therapy.
“I find that being alone is kind of a trigger for me,” Daryl he explained. “Now I know when I’m alone to be ready for that little b—h inside my head to be like, ‘Hey, dude, it’s just us now.’ What do we do?’ And that’s awesome to know that’s coming, instead of just going out to booze and smoke weed.”
Although he was able to quit smoking marijuana after learning about his triggers, Daryl he admitted it was not an easy process.
“My clutch was grass,” Daryl he said. “When I go to an event or a concert, I’d say, ‘Oh, maybe I’ll get a little high.’
In a recent interview Meghan29, opened about her and Daryl‘s plans to expand their family.
