News Politics: Liam Fox called the proposal that the UK could seek a post-Brexit Swiss-style deal with the European Union a “political non-start”.
A prominent Brexit advocate told: They must accept the free movement of people and European laws over which they have no control.
“Reopening the Brexit debate is the last thing we need at this point,” said the former international trade secretary, describing it as “a waste of everyone’s energy.”
“I don’t think this is in any way in line with the spirit of our referendum or our exit from the European Union. I have to keep working,” he said.
