News Sports: In the first round of the Phil Knight Legacy tournament on Thursday night, Zach Edey led No. 24 Purdue to an 80-68 victory over West Virginia with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Erik Stevenson scored 17 points as the Climbers (3-1) lost for the first time this season. Joe Toussaint added 16 points from the bench.
Mason Gillis added 14 points for the team’s success (4-0) and Brandon Newman came on from the bench to score 8 points.
